Maynooth University ranks at #1114 in 2024-25 in the U.S. News & World Report rankings – Best Global Universities category. In the previous year's rankings, this university ranked at #1254. This shows that there has been a slight decline in Galway University's ranking in U.S. News & World Report in 2025. For the Global Universities category rankings, a few of the factors on which the universities are evaluated are Global Research Reputation, Publications, Normalized Citation Impact, Regional Research Reputation, etc.

Maynooth University QS ranking is #801-850, whereas, Dublin City University ranks at #421 in 2025. This shows that DCU ranks better than Maynooth University in QS World University Rankings. In terms of selectivity too, DCU is more selective with an acceptance rate of 52%. Whereas, Maynooth University acceptance rate is around 73%.
