US News & World Report considers several factors while determining the rankings of top universities such as graduation rates, graduation performance rates, college graduate salaries, borrower debt, peer assessment, financial resources per student, faculty salaries, standardized tests, etc. The ranking weightage of some of these factors are given as follows:

In the year 2025, Vanderbilt University received 50,084 total applications from more than 100 countries in the world. Out of these applications, only 2,304 applicants were offered admission at this university resulting in a Vanderbilt University acceptance rate of 4.6% meaning out of every 100 applications, only 4 to 5 students were given an opportunity to study here. Really low acceptance rate makes it a highly selective university.

Based on the ratio of admissions to applications, Vanderbilt University acceptance rate stands at 4.6%. Since the stats are on the lower end, we can conclude that VU is a very competitive university to get into. However, students must not feel discouraged and fulfill all the admission requirements; competitive grades, standardized test scores, English language requirements & relevant documents in order to boost their chances of getting admitted in Vanderbilt University.
