You need to speak English every day with friends or even alone. Try to record yourself on your phone to hear mistakes. Read about common IELTS topics so you have ideas to talk.

Getting band 9 in IELTS writing is very hard. You need almost perfect English. You should also explain big ideas in simple and correct way. Taking help from IELTS teachers is good, because they can tell you where you make mistakes and how to improve.

You cant score band 8 just with correct grammar. You must use "uncommon lexical items" naturally without sounding like a robot, and vary your sentence structures between simple and complex. If your ideas don't flow logically with perfect cohesion examiner can cut the score.
