Yes, Humber College offers scholarships to international students. The details of some of the scholarships available for international students are given below:

International Entrance Scholarships: This is applicable for students starting their Diploma and / or Advanced Diploma studies at Humber College. This scholarship offers a CAD 2,000 reduction (Around INR 1 lakh) in tuition fees during the first two semesters of study (CAD 1,000 per semester)

Bachelor’s Degree Scholarships: This scholarship is awarded to students who come directly from high school / secondary school studies.

Humber College requirements for international students as per the course levels are given below:

  • Bachelor’s degree program: An equivalent of Ontario Secondary School Diploma and required courses is needed. The minimum course requirement can be checked from the programme page. A minimum 70% is required in All India Senior School Certificate / Higher Secondary School Certificate / Year 12 State Board exams
  • Post-Secondary Diploma or Certificate Program: The applicants need an equivalent of Ontario Secondary School Diploma and required courses. Check the specific course requirement from the respective course website

Admissions to Humber College can be competitive and it receives more applications than the available spaces. The college starts processing the applications 8-10 months prior to the start of each semester. Over the last few months, the International Centre at Humber has seen a major increase in the applications. Application processing will take up to 10 weeks.

Humber College welcomes international students from more than 135 countries. It has reputation for being one of Canada’s most diverse, exciting and comprehensive colleges – a leader in post-secondary education. A wide range of programs is available for international students. Furthermore, it provides on-campus housing to international students. On-campus residences are offered to more than 1,450 students at the college’s two Toronto campuses. Events are also conducted for international students, one of which is maintaining the co-curricular record.

Humber College application fee for Indian students is CAD 75 (Around INR 4,600). This is a non-refundable application fee and can be paid via credit card (Visa or Mastercard). The documents that have to be submitted along with the application are:

  • Scanned copies of original certified Secondary School Graduation transcripts for Diploma and Degree programs
  • College / university transcripts for postgraduate programs and degree programs
  • Official translation of transcripts into English

According to some of student reviews, the quality of education is the same for both the colleges – Humber College or Seneca College. However, when it comes to choosing a college, the choice is dependent on the student. Some of the highlights of both the colleges are given below:

Some of the students have a view that the infrastructure is better at Humber College. Also, the area where Humber College is located provides better job opportunities. Their career support team is very efficient and many programs have co-op opportunities for students to get into the corporate world.

According to various unofficial sources, Humber College acceptance rate is 70%. Although the acceptance rate justifies that the college is moderately selective at the time of admissions, but the college has itself specified that Humber College’s programs are competitive. Just meeting the minimum Humber College requirements for international students does not guarantee acceptance to the program. The best-qualified students receive the admission offers. Some of the tips for students starting their first-semester at the De Montfort University are:

  • Students who applied for De Montfort University must be humble and should interact with as many people as possible. Mainly beacause, the more people you talk to the better knowledge you get. 
  • Attend as many gathering and parties as much as you can. 
  • Applicants should avoid missing classess, as 70% of learning comes from students going to classes. 
  • Students can get invovlved with extracuricular activities, i.e joing university clubs, sports etc. This will also look good on a portfolio in the longer run.

The scores I need to have to get a scholarship at Indiana State University are :

For Academic Merit Scholarship: A cumulative grade point average of at least 3.5 on a 4.0 scale, or an 1140 SAT (Evidence-Based Reading and Writing and Math) or 23 ACT.

For Gongaware Scholarship: A combination of two of the following three: a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.8 on a 4.0 scale.

For Academic Excellence Scholarship: The deadline is December 1.

For Freshman Scholarship: Not available for USA residents.
