In order to study in the USA, Indiana University does provide financial aid and scholarships. In the most recent academic year, 71% of IU undergraduates received a grant or scholarship aid. IU students received more than $272 million in scholarships and awards. International students have the option of working both on and off campus. The Office of International Affairs on campus must provide permission for a student to work on campus. Once approved, they are only permitted to work 20 hours per week throughout the autumn and spring semesters. They may put in over 20 hours of labour while taking breaks.

Students must have a GPA score ranging between 3.62 and 4.0 for admission to Indiana University Bloomington. Along with this you also need following English Proficiency test scores: English proficiency test score:
- TOEFL PBT: 530 or higher
- TOEFL iBT: 71 or higher

All the courses and programs offered at Indiana University are taught in the English language. Indiana University requires international students to demonstrate proficiency in the English language. The minimum English language requirement for various courses are as follows:
- TOEFL: Overall 60 for undergraduate courses and 79 courses for graduate courses
