No, It is mandatory to appear for SLAT (Symbiosis Law Admission Test) as a precondition for admission to SLS, Pune. ymbiosis International (Deemed University) conducts SLAT annually. The exam shall be held in computer-based test mode. The duration of the test is 60 minutes and there are 60 MCQs of 60 marks in the test. Based on the scores of SLAT, candidates are shortlisted by the SLS. The selected candidates have to then appear for Personal Interview (PI) and Written Ability Test (WAT). Further, based on the scores of SLAT, PI and WAT a merit list is drawn for admission in respective Symbiosis law schools.

Symbiosis National Aptitude (SNAP) Test, which is a cormmon entrance test is conducted on 3rd Sunday of December every year since December 2004. SNAP is only the first step in the process of admission to postgraduate programme. The admission depends upon many other parameters which includes - performance of the candidate in the entrance test and cut off percentile/ score obtained as decided by individual institutue, Group Excercie, Personal Interaction and Writing Ability Test (GE-PIWAT) wherever applicable.
