Q:   How difficult is the SLAT test?

A:
The difficulty level of the SLAT test ranges from easy to moderate, according to an analysis of the question papers from the previous year. About 60 questions total, each worth one mark. You need to attempt these 60 questions in an hour's time. There is no negative marking for wrong answers, which makes it comparably easier than other law school entrance tests. The reasoning section might be challenging as the SLAT test focuses more on reasoning ability. However, the GK and reading comprehension sections are relatively easier than exams like CLAT. This exam can be qualified for with three months of dedicated preparation; therefore, it is relatively easier.

Q:   How to do preparation to clear SLAT in first attempt?

A:
The Symbiosis Law Admission Test SLAT is conducted for admission to four law schools at Symbiosis University. This exam is known to be a comparatively easier version of CLAT. Therefore, a focused study of at least 3 months is sufficient to clear this entrance exam. You can follow these preparation tips to clear SLAT in your first attempt: 1. Prepare important topics, like legal aptitude, in depth. 2. Try to solve as many practice questions for such topics as legal scenarios, logical reasoning questions, and grammar. 3. Focus on reading comprehension to improve reading speed to have an edge in this section, which is easily scoreable. 4. For general awareness-level questions, Current Affairs and basic GK preparation will suffice. 5. Focus on weak areas, but prepare for all topics holistically. 6. Mock exams should be practiced and revised in order to develop the habit of solving in a real-life exam scenario. 7. Do focus on articles in the news that will help you not just in the test but also in the further admission process, like the Personal Interview.

The SLAT merit list is prepared based on marks obtained by candidates. Considering their marks, ranks are allotted to them. These ranks are arranged in an ascending order (from highest rank to lowest rank) to create SLAT merit lists.

SLAT WAT

The SLAT Written Ability Test, or SLAT WAT, is an online test in which candidates are asked to write an essay in approximately 500 words on one of the two topics provided to them.

SLAT PI

SLAT PI is somewhat similar to a "Statement of Purpose" (SOP). But candidates are required to answer questions in this round verbally. SLAT PI can be conducted online or offline. The mode of this interview round depends on the notification provided by the Symbiosis Entrance Test (SET) authority.
