  • Appear in the SLAT Personal Interview or SLAT PI.

SLAT 2026 Selection Process in Detail

The SLAT merit list is prepared based on the marks obtained by candidates. Considering their marks, ranks are allotted to them. These ranks are arranged in ascending order (from highest rank to lowest rank) to create SLAT merit lists.

SLAT PI

SLAT PI is somewhat similar to a "Statement of Purpose" (SOP). But candidates are required to answer questions in this round verbally. SLAT PI can be conducted online or offline. The mode of this interview round depends on the notification provided by the Symbiosis Law Admission Test (SLAT) authority.

SLAT Counselling 2026

SLAT counselling 2026 is conducted for candidates who clear the SLAT cutoff as per the mandate of the SLS campuses. Know the detailed process to participate in SLAT counselling:

  • Counselling registration and fee - Candidates have to visit the official websites of SLS colleges and check the counselling schedule and process. They have to register in online mode from the official website only. Candidates registering successfully are issued call letters to appear for PI rounds.
  • Appearing for PI - Candidates have to appear for PI rounds, where a panel of judges tests candidates based on general awareness, legal knowledge, and other relevant topics.
  • Merit list and selection rounds - Based on SLAT scores and PI scores, each institute prepares its own merit list. The shortlisted candidates have to secure a seat by paying the admission fee and completing other formalities.
  • Confirming seats - After the merit lists come out and you see your name on it, you need to go to the SLS campus where you got selected for admission. There, you’ll have to show all the needed documents for verification. Once that’s done, you must pay the admission fee to lock your seat in the course you want. This step confirms your place in the Symbiosis Law School admission process.

Candidates are informed that SIU has scrapped the WAT process, which was held earlier for admission to SLS campuses.
