What is SLAT 2023?

SLAT also known as Symbiosis Law Admission Test (SLAT). It is a common entrance exam for admission in 4 Symbiosis law schools (SLS), which are SLS Pune, SLS Noida, SLS Hyderabad, and SLS Nagpur. The courses in which admission is offered are BA LLB (Hons), BBA LLB (Hons), BA LLB and BBA LLB. Symbiosis International (Deemed University) conducts SLAT annually. The exam shall be held in computer-based test mode. The duration of the test is 60 minutes and there are 60 MCQs of 60 marks in the test. Based on the scores of SLAT, candidates are shortlisted by the SLS. The selected candidates have to then appear for Personal Interview (PI) and Written Ability Test (WAT). Further, based on the scores of SLAT, PI and WAT a merit list is drawn for admission in respective Symbiosis law schools.

SLAT 2023 Eligibility Criteria

To apply and appear for SLAT exam, candidates need to fulfil the following eligibility criteria:

  • Qualifying exam: Passed Standard XII (10+2) or equivalent examination from any recognised Board.
  • Minimum marks in qualifying exam: Minimum of 45% marks or equivalent grade (40% marks or equivalent grade for Scheduled Caste / Scheduled Tribes).

SLAT 2023 Age Limit

There is no age limit for candidates to apply for the SLAT 2023 exam. They only need to fulfil the eligibility criteria. All candidates who meet the SLAT eligibility criteria 2023 as mentioned above can take the SLAT 2023 exams for admission to BA LLB, BBA LLB, BA LLB (Hons) and BBA LLB (Hons) courses. 

SLAT 2023 Application Form

  1. Visit the official website of SLAT 2023: set-test.org. 
  2. Click ‘register’ and fill out the registration form.
  3. Upload the scanned images.
  4. Click on 'save and continue'.
  5. Candidates will receive an Id and password on their registered email id and mobile number. Keep them safe.
  6. After this candidates have to fill out the application form.
  7. Make payment.

The admission process of SLAT 2023includes the following stages:

SLAT 2023 Admit Card

SIU will release the SLAT admit card 2023 online under the respective logins of the candidates. Candidates have to download the admit card and carry it to the allotted exam centre to take entry. Candidates have to use their SET ID/email ID and password to login and download the SLAT 2023 admit card. On the admit card, candidates can check the allotted exam centre address, reporting time, exam date, and other important details to be followed on the day of the exam.

With the SLAT 2023 admit card, candidates have to carry the below-given items:

  • Valid original Photo Identity proof (passport/driving license/voter id card/PAN card/aadhaar card/college id card)

After downloading the admit card:

  • Take a coloured print of the admit card. Balck and White printout is not accepted.
  • Ensure that the latest passport size, colour photograph is pasted on the admit card at the place provided. The photograph should not be more than 3 months old).

SLAT 2023 Exam Centres

SLAT 2023 Result

The result of SLAT 2023 will be available on the official website in the form of a scorecard. The scorecard bears the marks of the candidates in the entrance exam. Candidates can check the SLAT result online on the official website of the exam by entering their login details such as SET ID and password.

Candidates who qualify in the SLAT written entrance exam then need to appear for the Personal Interaction and Writing Ability Test (WAT) admission round. This is the last and final step of the admission process for Symbiosis Law School. PI-WAT round is conducted at individual SLS campuses. The final merit list contains the names of shortlisted candidates for admission in law programmes offered at SLS.

SLAT 2023 final merit list is prepared based on the following weightages:

Q: Is there any negative marking in SLAT 2023?

A: The SLAT eligibility criteria 2023 are based on qualification and category of candidates. A: No, The SLAT application form is common for both B.A. LL.B. And BBA LL.B. A: The difficulty level of the SLAT test ranges from easy to moderate, according to an analysis of the question papers from the previous year. About 60 questions total, each worth one mark. Thus, to get admission to undergraduate law courses offered by SLSs, candidates will have to appear in the SLAT exam, which is followed by Written Ability Test (What) and Personal Interview (PI). Admissions to SLSs are based on the collective scores of SLAT, What, and PI. Candidates need to know that there will not be provision for the rechecking of the results of SLAT 2023. If needed, the institute will also release the third merit list on July 15, 2023. SLS Noida will publish the SLAT 2023 first and second merit lists on June 21, 2023, and June 30, 2023, respectively. If required, the Law School will also release a third merit list for SLAT 2023 on July 10, 2023. The first merit list of SLAT 2023 for SLS Nagpur will be released on June 19, 2023. The institute will publish the second merit list of SLAT 2023 on June 28, 2023. SLS Hyderabad will release the first merit list for SLAT 2023 on June 19, 2023. Based on the total number of answers, the SLAT result for the entrance exam is calculated, which is scaled down to 50. The final results for admissions to Symbiosis Law School are not based on the SLAT entrance exam alone. The scores of the Written Ability Test (What) and Personal Interaction PI are also incorporated for admission to Symbiosis Law Schools. The total score of What is 20. However, the total score or weightage of PI is 30. Marks obtained by candidates in their SLAT entrance test, What, and PI are added to find their final results.
