Tamil Nadu Open University Courses

Tamil Nadu Open University offers a three-year BSc programme in different specialisations. Some of these specialisations include: 

• BSc in Chemistry
• BSc in Botany
• BSc in Physics
• BSc in Zoology 

BSc Botany is a three-year course of Tamil Nadu Open University spread across semesters. Below are some of the subjects that are a part of the curriculum:

• Plant Diversity
• Economic Zoology
• Animal Diversity
• Microbiology and Plant Pathology
• Plant Taxonomy and Economic Botany, etc.

TNOU BSc curriculum is divided into semester-pattern. Hence, the curriculum includes subjects semester-wise. During the course of the programme, students are required to study:

• Core Courses
• Ability Enhancement Compulsory Courses
• Skill Enhancement Courses
• Generic Elective Courses
• Discipline Specific Elective Courses

TNOU offers various courses that students can pursue after passing Class 10. Some of the courses offered are Vocational Diploma in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning, Fashion Design and Garment Making, Nutrition and Health Education, Diploma in Journalism, etc. 

Admissions are conducted twice between January and June. Admission to the courses is primarily merit-based. Moreover, the admission process is completely online. Hence, candidates can fill out and submit the application form via online mode through the Tamil Nadu Open University official website (tnou. ac.in). In addition, the university has set up 12 regional centres throughout Tamil Nadu to assist students in the application process.
