No, Tamil Nadu Open University, Chennai is not hard to get. The university is recognised by the UGC, Distance Education Council (DEC), National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) and Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI). TNOU is accredited with NAAC A+ Grade. The university offers admission based on merit. Aspiring candidates must qualify the eligibility criteria set by the university for the desired course.

TNOU has affordable fee structure. The fee ranges between  INR 2,000- INR 1 lakh. The fee structure includes tuition fee, caution fee, application fee, etc. Students can check with the admission office if the university allows payment through both online and offline modes.

See, a career switch is not an easy task, but kudos to you for trying. The course requires a PCB background in class 12th. So, unless you had PCMB in class 12th (considering you've done engineering) you might not be eligible. But yes you can do one thing and that is to search for institutes offering postgraduate diploma courses or certification programs in Nutrition and Dietetics instead of a degree.

Candidates seeking admission for B.Ed at TNOU can apply online at the official website, tnou.ac.in. Application fee for the B.Ed course is INR 500 (for general category candidates), which candidates has to submit at the time of completing an online application form. There is relaxation in application fee for SC/ ST students. Candidates belonging to the categories need to pay INR 250 as application fee.
