Yes! You are eligible to pursue a career as an Economics teacher if you have completed an M.Phil Economics degree. Though you should consider also pursuing a B.Ed. For teaching class 11th and 12th, You have to do Bachelor's degree and then do Master degree with at least 50% marks and you will be called PGT.

The UGC NET exam only tests eligibility for teaching positions in such disciplines as food technology. Some states conduct their own levels of exams, such as SET (State Eligibility Test), whereby you can apply depending on the state you choose to work in.
