Yes, NET qualification will help you to apply for Ph.D. from universities. UGC NET and CSIR NET exam are organized for the selection of candidate for assist professor and junior research fellows. The candidates after qualifying the NET exam, can apply or Ph.D. Th NET exam is organized for arts, commerce and other stream students while CSIR NET exam is organized for Science stream candidates. Yes, You can apply for the UGC NET Exam. As per the required eligibility criteria, the candidates who have completed the master's degree with minimum of 55% aggregate marks can apply for the UGC NET Examination. There are also other eligibility norms that you need to understand before submitting the form. For detailed information check this - https://scoop.eduncle.com/ugc-net-exam-eligibility. The National Testing Agency conducts the UGC NET Exam twice a year (June and December). So, you are suggested to appear in any of these two session. As you have pursued M.Com you should apply for the UGC NET Commerce Subject. Hope it Helps.

Hello,
Both the CSIR NET and UGC NET Exam are conducted for similar purposes. But still, there is difference in these two exams.
The similarity in these two exams are -
The National Testing Agency is responsible for conducting both these exams.
Both exams are conducted for selecting the candidates for lectureship or awarding Junior Research Fellowship.
Both exams are conducted twice a year.
The major difference in these exams is -
CSIR NET Exam is conducted for only science stream aspirants whereas the UGC NET Exam comprises subjects of humanities and languages.

Hello Deepika, The cutoff marks for each section is different and can not be sure about it. We can just have a brief idea about the cutoff through the previous year marks. The UGC NET exam was held from 2 to 6 Dec in two shifts. The final cut off marks depends on the various factors like number of candidates appeared in the exam, level of difficulty, attempts in the exam and final cut off marks etc. The cut off marks for the previous year Education subject paper was 58% for JRF & Assistant and 49% for only assistant. Hello Aarthi,
Yes, you are eligible for NET exam. The SET and NET exams are held for the selection of candidates for lectureship and junior research fellowship. The difference between the NET and SET is that SET is eligible for state level universities hence called state eligibility test while NET qualified candidates are eligible for National level universities or colleges and stands for National eligibility test.
