As an MSc in Food Technology pass out, you can clear the NET conducted by either UGC or CSIR to become an assistant professor in Indian universities and colleges. The UGC NET exam only tests eligibility for teaching positions in such disciplines as food technology. Some states conduct their own levels of exams, such as SET (State Eligibility Test), whereby you can apply depending on the state you choose to work in. Clearing these exams makes you eligible to apply for assistant professor positions in all the institutions of India. Furthermore, research experience also adds to your eligibility.

Yes, TET Paper 2 is generally compulsory for candidates applying for the District Selection Committee (DSC) exam for B.Ed. graduates. The TET (Teacher Eligibility Test) Paper 2 is specifically for those who wish to teach students from classes 6 to 8 (upper primary level), which is often a requirement for many teaching positions, including those for DSC.

However, the exact requirement may vary depending on the specific DSC notification and the state's policies. It's advisable to check the official DSC notification for the most accurate and up-to-date information on eligibility and requirements.
