DElEd or Diploma in Elementary Education is a 2-year diploma course for primary teachers' training. It will provide you with training for teaching in primary or upper primary schools. It is a 4-semester course that requires you to appear for CTET or state-level TET exams for admissions. 

To study the DElEd course, you must meet the basic eligibility parameters. A few of the requirements include 10+2 with a minimum aggregate of 50% marks. DElEd NIOS is also an option if you are an untrained teacher working in different parts of the country. The Syllabus for this course focuses on the educational requirements and child psychology and the process of learning, reading, and writing. 

This course is offered in Full-time and Distance mode. The DElEd Admission is conducted based on the DElEd entrance exams and merit list. Each state conducts a different entrance exam to offer the Diploma in Elementary Education course. The average fee to pursue DElEd is INR 5,000 – 80,000, and you can get a job with a starting salary of INR 2.5 LPA. DElEd graduates are primarily employed as school teachers in Nursery Schools, Kindergarten Schools, and Montessori Schools. Besides this, you can also pursue higher studies such as B.Ed or M.Ed.
