Some universities are now inviting applications for B.Ed. courses for students from other states in accordance with the policies and admission processes of the institution.

 The eligibility requirement usually includes having obtained at least 50 per cent marks in a bachelor's/master's degree. The total course fee for a two-year B.Ed course in government colleges is between INR 50,000 and INR 1,00,000, while the fee structure for private institutions may range from INR 1,50,000 to INR 2,50,000 for the whole course.

The course is intended as preparation for a qualified teacher and is recognised as a hold for school employment all over the country. 

To test the degree of the candidates' knowledge in their selected subject, the UGC NET Paper 2 of Group Sciences is subject specific and is intended to include such topics that cover post-graduate level learning in a particular subject discipline.

 For example, if you are giving UGC NET in Physics, the syllabus for Paper 2 will cover topics such as classical mechanics, electromagnetism, quantum mechanics, and thermodynamics. Organic chemistry, inorganic chemistry, physical chemistry, and analytical chemistry are some of the subjects that will be included in the syllabus for Chemistry. Therefore, you need to follow the UGC NET syllabus for your subject to do a specific preparation. The syllabus will give you the exact content of the topics you need to study. In addition, last year's question papers will help you see how exams are generally structured. The ingredients of success in the UGC NET Paper 2 will be regular study, absorption of key concepts, and practice. In Karnataka, various universities offer B.Ed. programmes through correspondence or distance learning. The notable institutions that provide B.Ed. are the Karnataka State Open University, Mysuru which provides B.Ed. in distance mode, and IGNOU with a regional centre in Bengaluru, that provides B.Ed. through distance education. The University of Mysore also offers B.Ed. through distance learning and Bangalore University offers a distance education programme for B.Ed., subject to the approval. Prior to applying to the program, one must check the eligibility criteria and course details together with whether the programme was approved from the respective university.

To become a government teacher for the Maths subject, first, you need to complete B.Ed (Bachelor of Education) after your B.Tech. Since you are already a graduate in civil engineering, B.Ed will take just 2 years. Choose Maths as your teaching subject in B.Ed.

Also use that time during B.Ed to prepare for exams like CTET and TET.

After that, you  clear the CTET (Central Teacher Eligibility Test) or state-level TET exam to be eligible for government teaching jobs. Some states may have separate teaching exams like KVS, NVS, so prepare for them accordingly.

Focus on improving your Maths concepts and teaching skills, along with finding a good way to explaining the things. Once you clear the exam, apply for vacancies through official portals.
