Kerala SET Eligibility Criteria:
1- For Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry Have a Master of Science degree in the concerned subject with at least 50 % marks or equivalent grade from any Regional Institute of Education that is sponsored by NCERT.
2- Botany and Zoology Have a Master of Science degree in the concerned subject with at least 50 % marks or equivalent grade from any Regional Institute of Education that is sponsored by NCERT.
3- Anthropology, Commerce, French, Gandhian Studies, Geology, German, Home Science, Journalism, Latin, Music, Philosophy, Psychology, Russian, Social Work, Sociology, Statistics and Syriac: Possess Bachelor of Education degree.
4- English Possess class Masters's Degree in Communicative English with at least 50 % marks as well as a Bachelor of Education degree.
5- Hindi Students who have acquired a Bachelor of Education Degree in Hindi conducted by the Dakshin Bharatha Hindi Prachar Sabha are exempted from the requirement of producing the equivalency Certificate as the degree has been recognised by the Universities in Kerala, informs the official website.
6- Latin: Cleared their degree exam in any discipline with Latin as their second language under Paper 2 wherein they have secured at least 50% marks. Kerala SET is organized by the LBS Centre for Science and Technology, Thiruvananthapuram, for the students to be selected as Higher Secondary School Teachers and Non-Vocational Teachers in VHSE. Qualifying for the Kerala State Eligibility Test is stipulated as a mandatory requirement for candidates to be appointed as Higher Secondary School Teachers in the State. The Kerala SET exam is of a four-hour duration. As part of the Kerala State Eligibility Test exam, aspirants have to give two papers. While Paper 1 is common for all candidates, Paper 2 contains questions from the subject in which the candidate had a specialisation at the post-graduation level. Students can select from a list of 31 subjects to give the Kerala State Eligibility Test Paper 2 exam.
