But it goes without saying that if aim is to get into a top-notch Institute then one must pay full attention to clear entrance exam with top marks. After graduation, take one year's break. In my opinion, having a good aptitude helps an MBA aspirant a lot while preparing for the various entrance exams. One's academic background has nothing much to do with studying for these exams.

Along with current affairs, you need to polish your English and general science. You will be asked some synonyms-antonyms and basic grammer. Also, you need to know science related to radio and camera.
It is best to refer a journalism entrance exam book. These books are easily available in market. You can also browse for such questions with answers on internet.

I think that's too early. In the first year (2nd semester), it is important to focus more on your engineering courses than MBA exams.
You will be eligible for MBA exams only during your final semester exams and so it will be ideal to prepare from the 3rd year or final year.
