UCEED consists of two parts:

  • Part A (Computer-based): Objective questions (NAT, MSQ, MCQ)

  • Part B (Pen-and-paper): Drawing and design aptitude questions

IIT Bombay conducted the UCEED 2026 Entrance Exam for B.Des programmes on January 18, 2026. The notification was out in the first week of October 2025.

Yes, the tie-breaking rule directly impacts your UCEED 2025 All India Rank. If multiple candidates have the same total score, the candidate meeting the higher priority criteria of the tie-breaking rules will be ranked higher on the merit list.

If two or more candidates have the same UCEED score after considering Part B, Section 2, Section 1, and date of birth, the final decision will be made by the examination authority. Such cases are extremely rare, and the committee ensures a fair and unbiased approach to resolve them.

Note that the Part B question paper is not evaluated unless the candidate qualifies Part A. Further, only such candidates who have qualified Part A are shortlisted and are allocated a merit rank. In case of candidates who have failed to qualify Part A of UCEED 2023, they are not issued any merit rank. Their scorecard merely includes Part A scores. In case of candidates who are shortlisted and are issued a merit rank, they can participate in UCEED 2023 and seat allotment.

The allotment of UCEED 2023 seats is based on the 1) UCEED 2023 merit rank of the candidate and 2) choice opted at the time of choice filling. IIT Bombay conducted choice filling process from March 14-31. Candidates who were allocated a merit rank in UCEED 2023 were able to select campuses. Note that the allocation of seats is done institute and category-wise. Candidates who have been allocated seats will have to get their documents verified and pay the admission fees.

The scorecard of UCEED 2023 was released on March 11, 2023. The scorecard includes the Part A score for all candidates. However, Part B, UCEED 2023 score, and merit ranks are issued only for candidates who have qualified in Part A. The scorecard is valid for a period of one year from the date of its release. Using the UCEED 2023 scorecard, the candidate can apply for admission to B. Des programs offered by both participating and result-sharing institutes.

The result for UCEED 2023 was declared on March 9, 2023. The result is available online at the UCEED 2023 - IIT Bombay admission portal. Candidates can check their results by logging into the result portal using their email id and password. Candidates who have been assigned a merit rank are eligible to participate in UCEED 2023 counselling. Online registrations for UCEED counselling 2023 was open from March 14-31, 2023.

The admission cut-off for Round I of UCEED 2026 will be released alongside the seat allotment results on April 21, 2026.

This will be followed by 2nd allotment on May 19, 2026. The 3rd round of allotment will be declared on June 10, 2026.

The cut-off has been released in the form of category-wise opening and closing ranks. Also, the cut-off is released for all the participating institutes. Candidates who meet the cut-off criteria will get admission to the B. Des programme.
