to appear for UGC NET in Sociology the candidate should follow the following eligibility criteria as per the gudelines issued by the authority .

Candidates holding foreign degrees, diplomas, or certificates, or post-graduate diplomas from Indian universities or institutes, should, in their own best interests, find out from the Association of Indian Universities (AIU), New Delhi, whether their diplomas, degrees, or certificates are equivalent to master's degrees from accredited Indian universities.

hi.

You can still apply for the UGC NET Exam if the final exam results for your Masters degree are awaited. However, you will be only considered for the award of JRF and Lectureship when you pass the master’s degree with the required percentage within 2 years of UGC NET Result declaration. Otherwise, you will be exempted from it.
