International applicants who intend to study or work in the UK, where English is the primary language of communication, must take the International English Language Testing System exam. The exam primarily evaluates candidates' proficiency in the four fundamental communication abilities of speaking, reading, writing, and listening in English. Students believe that having poor IELTS results will preclude them from enrolling in any UK course. Although no bands lower than 5.5 are approved for admission, several universities accept an overall score between 5.5 and 6.5. Considering the data you've provided and the course and college you want

Students are recommended to reach up to one month before the commencement of their course if the duration of the same is six months or more. However, irrespective of your course’s start date, do not come to the UK before your visa start date.
