Yes, the majority of the first-year students are known to live as part of the university maintained residential halls.

The institute maintains separate on-campus accommodation facilities for its UG & PG students, as well as those who choose to live as part of families.

The rooms are available in both private & shared forms with UCL taking care of the accommodation facilities in the halls operated by itself.

Some halls are also available to students willing to take up self-catering, these include: Astor College, John Dodgson House & Ian Baker House among others.

Yes, UCL students are known to have a “vibrant” social life, with the institute's policy of keeping Wednesday afternoons free of teaching giving students enough time to participate in a number of recreational activities on- & off-campus.

Students can either unwind with friends as part of a UCL Café, enjoy theatre, live music performances, & stand-up comedy as part of the Bloomsbury Theatre or go DJ-ing with the institute's own student radio station: Rare FM.

The UCL acceptance rate of 36% is nearly twice that of Oxford University which has an acceptance rate of 17%.

Thus, it can be said that University College London is relatively easier to secure admissions at than Oxford.

However, both institutes are selective to a good extent, & interested applicants must maintain a solid academic record & resume demonstrating their non-academic capabilities to secure admissions at either institute.
