If you are looking at the acceptance rate alone, then taking admission into UCLA is more difficult. As per U.S. News, UCLA has an acceptance rate of 11%. So, it is more difficult to take admission into UCLA.

To get into UC Irvine MBA, the applicants are required to have an equivalent of a 4-year US bachelor’s degree. The overall GPA required to take admission to the University of California Irvine MBA is 3.0. In case, the overall GPA is below 3.0, the Admissions Committee will consider the undergraduate institution attended and major, and additional degrees and licenses obtained. Though having the specified minimum GPA is necessary to take admission to UC Irvine MBA course, other factors like GMAT / GRE score, work experience, English language proficiency test score, essays / goals, recommendations, are also considered for a decision

The University of California Irvine has just stated that it requires GMAT score for MBA admission, the minimum score has not been mentioned. But, the entering class average score for GMAT is 675. Other factors that are considered for UCI MBA by the admission committee are:

  • English language proficiency score
  • GMAT score
  • Undergraduate performance
  • Work experience
  • Recommendations
  • Essays / Goals 
  • Fit for the program

The applicants must have the following in order to get into the UCI MBA program:

  • Equivalent of a 4-year US bachelor's degree. An overall GPA of 3.0 is preferred. In case, the overall GPA is below 3.0, the Admissions Committee will take into consideration the undergraduate institution attended and major, and additional degrees and licenses obtained
  • GMAT / GRE score
  • IELTS / TOEFL score

So, looking at the acceptance rate, it can be said that admissions at UC Irvine for an MBA course is quite competitive. The applicants must have a strong academic record in order to take admission to the UC Irvine MBA program. The university asks for a 4-year U.S. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent and an overall GPA of 3.0 is preferred.
