As a public university, the University of Connecticut (UConn) receives funding from the state government, which helps keep tuition costs lower for in-state students compared to private universities. Public universities often have a larger student population and offer a wide range of academic programs and resources, including research opportunities, internships, and extracurricular activities. UConn, being a public institution, also has a mission to serve the community and state through its education, research, and outreach programs.
