DDU GKP is one of the well known university in the area. The tution fee of DDU ranges between Rs 9,000 to  14,000 per annum, and for the same  the University of Lucknow charges fees ranging from Rs 5,000 to Rs 8,000. The annual cost of the DDU GKP hostel, including mess fees, ranges from Rs 16,000 to Rs 24,000. The annual cost of the hostel facility at Lucknow University is ranging between Rs 12,000 and Rs 16,000 with additional mess charges. As Compared to Gorakhpur, Lucknow is a bigger city so the food, lodging, and transportation are more expensive there and at DDU Gorakhpur University, total costs are projected to ranges

As per UOL Ph.D. eligibility criteria, All candidates who have applied will be allowed to appear in the research entrance test. So the research entrance test RET of UOL is mandatory and followed by an interview. Minimum 50% marks in RET is another requirement for admission.

The University of Lucknow was founded in 1921, so it's older. In 1996, DDU Gorakhpur was founded.
NIRF has Lucknow University ranked 35th, much higher than DDU GKP, which is ranked in the 100–150 band.
Lucknow University has a 3.67 CGPA and an A+ NAAC grade. DDU GKP has a CGPA of 2.69 and an NAAC grade of B+.
