You can refer NCERT Class 9th-10th+NCERT Macro Economics + Indian Economics. Micro economics NCERT can be skipped. Focus on understanding the meaning of certain keywords eg. Inflation, repport rate, etc. Start reading The Hindu Business pages & there too, find & note keywords.

Hi Jerry,
Of course, you can. There is no role of commerce and accounting in UPSC. You need to prepare for the UPSC syllabus and clear the exam. Please note that the syllabus of UPSC is the competitive exam and the level of difficulty is very high. Yet, if you think you can crack it and are dedicated to clear the exam, you certainly should appear for it and give it your best shot. You can refer to this link to see how to prepare for a UPSC exam

Hello dear, both are good options. You only need a graduation degree for appearing in the UPSC and MPSC exam. You may prepare for your UPSC exam during your graduation. Self-study is more preferred than coaching. If you have any doubt, then go for coaching.

Sociology, syllabus and easily available but if you have command over your graduation subject then I prefer you to go for that. For getting good marks you need to prepare hard for one year atleast and also you can go for coaching. It's the toughest Indian exams for most intellectual minds.
