No, there is no sectional time limit in the UPTET examination. Candidates have to complete the entire exam in a total of 2 hours and 30 minutes. That is, candidates can attempt any section as per their convenience within a total duration of 2.5 hours.

In the UPTET exam, the minimum qualifying marks for the General category is 60% and for the reserved categories (OBC, SC, ST) is 55%.  Have a look at the UPTET Qualifying Marks below.

UPTET Paper 2 subjects are mentioned below:

  • Child Development and Pedagogy: 30 questions

  • Language I (Hindi): 30 questions

  • Language II (English/Urdu/Sanskrit): 30 questions

  • Mathematics and Science: 60 questions (for Maths/Science teachers)
       OR
       Social Studies – 60 questions (for Social Studies teachers)

In total 150 question will be asked in an offline mode.

No, there is no negative marking in the UPTET exam. In the UPTET exam, candidates are given four choices for every question. Candidates need to select the one correct answer out of the four given options. One mark is allotted for every correct answer. There is no negative marking in the exam. The Uttar Pradesh Basic Education Board (UPBEB) has not mentioned any negative marking scheme in the UPTET exam. This means that candidates are not penalized for incorrect answers in the UPTET exam. Candidates are advised to attempt all the questions in the UPTET exam to maximize their chances of scoring well.

The UPTET 2025 exam will be conducted in offline mode. The exam will be conducted in pen paper based mode. The candidates will be provided with OMR sheet that will comprise 150 questions and their options. The candidates have to fill out the OMR sheet carefully as no extra OMR sheet will be provided to the candidate. So, the candidates are advised to fill out their name, roll number, date, date of birth subject code carefully. If the candidates makes mistakes in filling out these descriptions there are chances that the OMR sheet will be rejected by the board.
