For M.E/M.Tech -Merit based on GATE/ TANCET/ Vels Entrance Examination and percentage of mark secured in the qualifying examination.
For B.E/B.Tech - Merit based on Vels Entrance Examination and merit based on percentage of marks secured in the qualifying examination.
For B.Tech Marine Engineering - Merit based on percentage of marks secured in the qualifying in IMUCET examination together with 10+2 marks.
For Management Course - Merit based on percentage of marks secured in the qualifying examination.
For MBA - The varsity accepts CAT, MAT and XAT scores for M.B.A. admissions. Candidates can also appear for the VEE.

Yes, VELS school of Maritime Studies in very highly expensive beacuse compared to other college and university this college semester fees is very high almost one Lacs INR is fees for per semester for some TOP courses. And for normal courses the fees are also very high. So, this college is very much expensive than other college.

FLEET, K-line, MOL, APJ shipping, Molta are top recruiters for VELS school for Martime studies for B.Sc course.But,Not only these companies there are so many Maritime based companies visit in this College Every year for Recruiting Talent for different different role.Also Students are can got opportunity in Another field also if they want to do.

After doing B.Sc from VELS school you can got job in various field and got various roles in various companies. like below roles.
Logistics Manager, Logistics Executive, Sales and Marketing Manager in Shipping and FF companies, Warehouse Manager, Supply chain Manager, Head of Cargo Operations, Client support Executive, Documentation Executive, CHA (Custom House Agent) in Customs, Customs Officer, Freight forwarding & Custom Clearance Agent, Cost Rate Analyst, Head of Transportation, Surveyor, Port Operations Head, Can Start up own shipping and logistics business.

In this college so many companies visit every year but some companies hire in bulk from this college. The mass hiring companies for this college is IBM, INFOSYS, HONEYWELL, TCS, COCNIZANT, AMAZON, GOOGLE, WIPRO, ZOHO, ARISTA, ATLASSIAN, FLEET, K-line, MOL, Goodwood, Chellaram, PCL, APJ shipping, Molta etc.Also some other companies visit every year but they hire very less number of students.
