It has received the A1 certificate from Ministry of Shipping . It is a esteemed institute in the field of maritime studies. As far as Tier system is considered, It does not fall into any of the above criterias but still it has good potential in fields of maritime studies. It is a tier 2.5 institute.

Yes, VELS School of Maritime Studies is  good for B.Sc. Fire Safety and Hazard Management. It has great faculities and good academic track record. It has well maintained infrastrucutre which includes good laboratories essential for B.Sc. Fire Safety and Hazard Management. Placements are decent ranging from Rs. 2.1Lpa to Rs. 3 Lpa.

Yes, VELS School of Maritime Studies is a decent college. It offers courses in marine engineering and nautical sciences. The academic record is fine and the Infrastructure is good. Alumni support is also fine. Placements range from Rs. 2.3 Lpa to 3.4 Lpa. You may consider the above points and make a decision accordingly.

VELS School of Maritime Studies has a moderate placement record. According to the pass-out students’ reviews, around 40% find placements every year. The top salary is Rs 40,000 per month while the lowest package stands at almost Rs 30,000 per month. PIL, KLIN and Molta are the leading recruiters.

The four-year B.E.Marine Engineering course, approved by DG Shipping, Ministry of Shipping, Government of India, is a course leading to Class IV Marine Engineer Officer Certificate of Competency, awarded by the Ministry of Shipping, Government of India, after six months of sea service, enabling the cadets to become Marine Engineers on board Merchant Naval ships anywhere in the world. This course is strictly residential.

The average package during the placement is INR 6 lakh per annum.
