Dr. Capt. N. Kumar is the Director of the School of Maritime Studies. He has degrees such as Master (FG), MICS, MBA, and others. He is a Merchant Navy Ship Captain and has also completed a PhD in Management. The other faculty members are also experts and professionals in their field. Hence, the faculty members are good.

VELS School of Maritime Studies offers diploma, postgraduate, and undergraduate courses to students. These courses are provided across the Marine Engineering, Nautical Science, and various other streams. At the UG level, the college offers BSc, BBA, B.E., BTech, and other courses to students. At the PG level, the college offers Graduate Marine Engineering (GME) course to students. There are several other Diploma courses available at this school of study.

VISTAS follows the Choice-Based Credit System (CBCS), and the courses offered are approved by the AICTE and other statutory bodies such as the Bar Council of India (BCI), Pharmacy Council of India (PCI), and the Director General of Shipping (DGS).

To get into VELS School of Maritime Studies for Advance Diploma in Nautical Science, you have to study hard. You have to prepare for IMU CET exam . You should go through whole syllabus first available on IMU CET website. Master each topic of syllabus with ample no. of qns and study theoritical concepts well. Practice exam pattern well in your computer. Give ample no. of mock tests. You will pass the exam easily.

Here is the eligibility criteria for admission to B.Sc. Fire Safety and Hazard Management at VELS School of Maritime Studies :
1) A good qualification marks in 10+2 examination or a Diploma in (10+3) examination.

As far as VELS School of Maritime Studies is considered for B.Sc. Nautical Science, It posses a great potential. It offers a diverse curriculam with good infrastructure .It paves down a strong foundation. Almost 60% students get placed in whole batch and average package ranges from Rs. 4 to 5 Lpa. Some may go up to Rs. 10 Lpa.

Here is the admission process for Advance Diploma in Nautical Science at VELS School of Maritime Studies:
This programme runs with a collaboration of the City of Glasgow College, UK which helps in better studies for students.
For the admissions, you have to give IMU CET ( Indian Maritime University) Exam . After this you have to fill application form at VELS School of Maritime Studies website. If your IMU CET Score is above cutoff score, you will be called for Interview and after this final merit list will be released.
