Yes, scope is good and options are diverse. The field of animal care looks for skilled professionals abroad. The requirements for pursuing higher studies abroad depends on country to country, tests such as GRE, MCAT,VCAT etc. may have to be taken.

You can do a lot of course in the medical field. BPT (Bachelor of Physiotherapy), BOT (Bachelor of Occupational Therapy), BDS (Bachelor of Dental Surgery), BSP (Bachelor of Speech Therapy), Nursing, B.Pharm (Bachelor of Pharmacy), BAMS (Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery), BHMS (Bachelor of Homeopathic Medicine and Surgery), BUMS (Bachelor of Unani Medicine and Surgery Naturopathy and Yoga ). In non-medical, you can do B.Sc zoology, botany microbiology, biotechnology or biochemistry. You can do B.Tech in biotechnology, food technology or B.Sc forensic science. I think veterinary is better than BAMS as a vet has to do lots of things, even surgeries and an ayurvedic doctor only plays with medicines. Moreover, the studies of Ayurveda is quite complex as compared to vet and nowadays more and more people prefer keeping pets for relief from depression which has an edge for veterinary doctors.
