However, I would like to suggest you that you should choose Vellore Institute of Technology (main campus) than Institute of Technology because of the following reasons:
1. The fee structure of Manipal Institute of Technology in Computer Science Engineering is about 12 LPA in total whereas fee structure of Vellore Institute of Technology is about 7.5 LPA in total.
2. Faculty of Vellore Institute of Technology is much more experienced and knowledgeable than the faculty of Manipal Institute of Technology as a number of faculties of Vellore Institute of Technology have Ph.D degrees.
3. Manipal Institute of Technology is better than Vellore Institute of Technology in one thing that is infrastructure.
4. Facilities provided by Vellore Institute of Technology is much better than Manipal Institute of Technology.

For production and industrial engineering branch in VIT University, the average placement package recorded for the year 2017 was around Rs 4 to Rs 5 lakhs where around 50% of the students of the batch got placed in corporate IT companies or marketing firms like the mass recruiters TCS, Wipro, Infosys. COEP and VIT are both good colleges and among the top most in Maharashtra. But among the two COEP is the winner. COEP has been ranked one in Maharashtra after the IITs and NITs. According to MHRD rankings COEP is ranked 24th while VIT is not even in the top 100.
Generally speaking COEP blows VIT out of the water. COEP is much well-known and trusted among recruiters as compared to VIT. Last time COEP had around 85% placement for CSE (this number seems less as the students who didn't accept the offers are also included) and the average salary was around 7-8 LPA for CSE department which is more compared to VIT which had an average package of around 6 LPA.
COEP in also better in academics and VIT is better in extracurricular as such. But what I have learnt from staying one year in Tamil Nadu is that COEP is well known all over India but the same is not the case with VIT.
So go for COEP over VIT.
