Admission to all courses offered by the Institute of Advance Education and Research (IAER) is based on an entrance exam called the IAER Common Entrance Test (ICET) which is conducted by the institute itself. The ICET is an online scholarship and entrance test that is taken for all courses available at IAER. The institute also offers direct admission to UG programmes.

According to the Kanyashree Scheme, Kanyashree enrollees will get 50% waiver
(a) in the cost of Admission Form,
(b) in Registration Fee and
(c) in Counseling Fee.
Also Kanyashree enrollees will get priority for accommodation in Hostel of Government Polytechnics where hostel facility is available. The above stated facilities will be available on production/ submission of valid Kanyashree Identity Card in original issued by the Competent Authority of the Government of West Bengal.
