Ragging is an offense according to government laws. Hence there will be strict rules against it in the college. So you need not worry about it and you can report about these to the college admin whenever you find something like that. There might be any reservations, but there will be no discrimination based on your caste. Do not overthink about anything and simply focus on your goals. All the best.

For getting admission in any NIT, a student from SC category must have obtained at least 54.01 percentile marks in JEE Mains. Then you must register yourself on the portal of JoSAA for admission process. The basic criteria of eligibility needed for admission to the course is a higher secondary (10+2) or equivalent qualification from a recognised educational board, with PCB and/ or math as the main subjects and a minimum aggregate score of 55%. Admission to the course is based on the candidates performance at the 10+2 level. Institutes offering the course admit students based on whether they meet the minimum, set cut- off scores at the 10+2.
