The Tamil Nadu Common Entrance Test is the main method CEG uses to enrol MBA candidates (TANCET). NRIs, PIOs, and Foreign Nationals are among the exceptions, as they may be excluded from the TANCET test depending on their academic standing and GMAT/GRE results. You may get more information on the official website. Furthermore, candidates for the Executive MBA programme may apply for lateral entrance without needing TANCET scores if they have appropriate work experience. You can find the specific criteria by contacting the admissions office or visiting the programme website.

With over 80% of graduates landing positions in industries including IT, engineering, consulting, and finance, CEG leads the way in B.Tech placements. TCS, Infosys, and Cognizant are among the top recruiters. Top performers may receive compensation packages exceeding INR10 Lacs annually, with average salary packages falling between INR4 Lakhs and INR8 lakhs. The Placement and Training Cell arranges industry visits, career counselling, and assistance with resume building, mock interviews, and pre-placement training. While possibilities in core engineering areas like Computer Science are higher, there are fair opportunities in branches like Electronics & Communication Engineering and Civil Engineering. For more information, prospective students should review placement records particular to their branch.

Although 60% of students in Class 12 at College of Engineering Guindy (CEG) achieve the minimum requirements for a B.Tech, entrance is improbable because of competitive procedures. Students in Tamil Nadu rely on TNEA rankings, which may not be sufficiently competitive at 60%. Outside of Tamil Nadu, admission is mostly decided by JEE Main scores; the past cutoff ranks ranged from 10,000 to 30,000. It is suggested that you concentrate on raising your JEE Main score or your Class 12th TNEA points. Other options for getting in include looking into CEG's lateral entry programs or institutions with lower cut-offs.

For non-Tamil Nadu students, CEG mostly takes JEE Main scores; for local applicants, admission is based on Class XII PCM marks obtained through TNEA counselling. Along with Class XII grades, category reservation, and counselling rank, the JEE Main score is simply one consideration. The annual cut-offs differ by category and place of residence and are dependent on variables such as applicant volume, seat availability, and exam difficulty.

The College of Engineering Guindy (CEG) MBA programme requires a minimum of 50% in the general category and 45% in the reserved categories for the Bachelor's degree in order to be eligible. The Tamil Nadu Common Entrance Test (TANCET) score is the main criterion for selection; work experience is not required. The TANCET score and academic standing are used to create a shortlist of candidates, who then move on to the Group Discussion (GD) and Personal Interview (PI) phases of the selection process. A combination of the TANCET, GD, and PI performance scores determines the final choice.
