Hi,
New Delhi: Delhi University's decision to make mathematics mandatory for admission to it's B.Com course has been slammed as "untimely" and "unfair" by a section of parents and students who want at least a two-year window before any such implementation. In separate letters to CBSE chairman, DU Vice Chancellor and HRD minister, these students, parents and teachers have sought their intervention into the issue. Making amendments in its admission policy, DU had last month announced that it will be compulsory for admission seekers to B.Com (Hons) courses and Economics (Hons) to have studied maths in class XII. For B.Com pass course if the student has not studied maths in class XII or doesn't include the subject's marks in the best-four percentage, he or she will attract a penalty of 2.5 per cent, DU had said. The varsity had also said that Informatics Practices (IP) will be not be treated as an elective subject and students will face disadvantage of 2.5 per cent. Deepika Singh, Principal, Air Force School, Subroto Park has written to CBSE Chairman and DU VC saying, "Any change in the admission procedure/rule at DU should be done with a minimum of 2 years notice enabling students to choose subjects in class XI itself to make optimal use of admission rules. "
"Students of class XII, who will take the board exam in 2016, are extremely perturbed too, as they have already spent their time studying this subject, and cannot take another 'academic elective' at this stage, " the letter says.

Hello Akriti, yes for economics (H) in DU, you should have Maths till 12th class but it is not necessary to include it in best 4 subjects (BFS). Yes economics definitely should be included in BFS for Economics (H) else you will face deduction.

The placements are the most attractive part of the campus. It is evident from the past records that most of the profiles ordered are from the marketing field and a very few companies offer Finance profiles to the students of FMS. Therefore, it is called as a marketing campus. Currently interning with Shop clues under Product Development, I am using this opportunity provided by the institution to the best of my learning. The average package for this campus is around 22 Lacs p. a. and with the lowest fee amongst the B-Schools, this has the highest ROI on MBA. For fees kindly visit the college website and look for brochure.

As far as I know, it should not be less than 98 percentile. You have to appear for GD and PI to grab a seat.
