SRM is a good option. The reason I am suggesting SRM is the campus life is really happening placements are very decent compared to any other private colleges in India. You have variety of opportunities to develop yourself in any field you want we have many clubs ranging from making satellites and sending them to space to making f1 cars . you never get bored in the campus. Infrastructure and the labs are very modern you have great scope for research also. The college fests are lit .

Placements: better not to be very optimistic about core companies. CSE IT get good amount of companies. Mechanical electrical civil. Same old story. Just 10% get placed in a core company. Same is the situation everywhere.
Faculty: just like any other institute in the world, some professors are fabulous and some are not any better than to take attendance. According to me it's the student who has to work. No professor would not be happy to help you out in project or any matter related to studies. It is you who has to utilize them. May be you have to fall behind them to get your work done.
Attendance issue: you are expected to have 75% attendance but generally they do not care and let you write the exams.
Sports: professional facilities are present but at a cost. You generally don't see people playing regularly. It's just before the events, the people make a team and start playing.

Dear Sainath, both institutions are good. However, if you still want a clarification, then you can go for GITAM. It has a good set up and the faculty is also good. Wherever you go, you need to be focused on your course completely. As it is your scorecard that will open up the doors for your future. I hope this would suffice. All the best.
