Hello, there is no need to prepare for CAT right from your second year. Generally, around 6 months of diligent preparation for 3-4 hours daily is enough to score well in CAT. Though you can start your preparations for it, indirectly, by improving your vocabulary (read the editorial columns of leading newspapers and other books, novels, etc) and strengthening your logical reasoning and mental calculation skills (speed maths tricks, logical puzzles, etc). You need to score more than 50% marks at the graduation level and score more than 99 percentile at CAT to get admission into top IIMs. You can also seek admission in any of the top 25 MBA colleges apart from IIMs.

It's nice to see your quest for learning of a foreign language. I feel Japanese or German should be preferred. This is so since the different collaborations in Industry will surely spur demand for experts with domain knowledge
