You don't get much of practical exposure , but you get a chance to actively participate in presentations which polishes your communication skills , and can also help you to overcome fear of speaking in front of a large crowd.

I am a mechanical engineer from GITAM, hyd, i suggest you to not take mechanical in GITAM as there are very less companies coming. Placements are very poor, not even (20 %).
