Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University (JNTU), Kakinada was set up in 1946 as a public university. JNTU, Kakinada at the time of its establishment was known as The College of Engineering, Visakhapatnam. JNTU, Kakinada is one of the leading universities that majorly focus on the Engineering domain. Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University (JNTU), Kakinada offers five courses at the undergraduate level, namely B.Tech, B.Pharma B.Arch Pharma. D and integrated MBA. The duration of B.Tech and B.Pharma is four years each, whereas B.Arch and integrated MBA are of five-year duration. Pharma. D is of six-year duration. Admission to all these courses is entrance exam-based. For JNTUK Ph.D. admission, candidates must appear in one of the entrance exams such as UGC NET/ CSIR NET/ GATE/ Andhra Pradesh RCET followed by Interview.
