Dear Usha, Both LPU and Amity are good but LPU is in Punjab not in Delhi. Moreover, LPU is a very good university for the Journalism course. LPU is best for pursuing a B.A. (Journalism and Mass Communication) and M.A. As my cousin completed his degree last year. The programme is designed to expose students to all dimensions of Print, Electronic, and New Age Media. As we all know, Mass Communication is a medium of dispersing information to many people. Dear Sameeksha, Yes, LPU is a good choice for Civil Engineering. My cousin's brother did M.Tech in Civil at LPU. The following are the highlights of Civil engineering in LPU: -
1. Most of the faculty staff are from reputed organizations with their the highest degree from various reputed institutes such as IITs, NITs, etc. Apart from that, faculty have got previous industrial experience also.
2. The capstone project is an integral part of B.Tech programme in which students have to pick a live project based on the practical problem-based scenario (ideally from industry) and work for six months under a mentor and present a report at the end. This is beneficial to enhance your presentation skills.
3. There is an internship programme which could be an opportunity for getting work experience and increase your chance to get employment after you pass out. But, of course, your academic record should be good to get this placement option.
4. Industrial visits are organized to nearby construction sites from time to time. There, you can SEE actual construction work going on. Be prepared to have dust on your shoes (believe me, it will be worth a lot). You have to ask questions yourself and trigger interest in the activities around you.
