Dear Deepak, The cut-off for qualifying LPU NEST is around 40% marks for pass programs whereas for honors and integrated programs, it is between 40% to 50% marks. This cut off is often dynamic, and change every year depending upon the difficulty of the paper, number of candidates, the number of vacant seats, marks obtained any other factors. Please note these are just indicative numbers for qualifying LPU NEST for scholarships of different slabs the cut off is higher for every upper slab of scholarship. I also had the same query for one of my niece who was planning to enrol in Ph.D management. On inquiring, I came to now that the university offers
a. Ph.D Management - Part time (NOC required from the Employer)
b. Ph.D Management - Full time
The eligibility is a) Master's degree with 55% aggregate marks in a relevant discipline or equivalent, subject to qualifying LPUNEST and Interview;
b) Other conditions as prescribed in the Guidelines for Degree of Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D. ) programmes. (5% relaxation to SC/ ST/ OBC (non-creamy layer)/ differently-able candidates)An applicant will be short listed for interview on the basis of his/ her score in the entrance examination LPUNEST (Ph.D. ). I also came to know the important point that the final selection for admission in Ph.D. will be based on the performance in Entrance Test (70% weightage) and Interview (30% weightage) subject to scoring minimum marks in the Interview. As per the rules, course work is mandatory and after that supervisor selection takes place and the same is taken by a special Division I. e CDRP which is meant only for undertaking research related things. In addition to this, maximum two supervisors will be allowed, one main supervisor from the concerned department from LPU and one Co-supervisor can be opted from LPU or from other institution /university /industry /NGO provided he/ she meets the eligibility requirement as per LPU policy.
