He can opt for either BA/BBA.
Opt for BBA, if you had class 12th commerce, because otherwise it gets tough for other stream students to solve accounts problems etc. You can opt for BA. It is easy. But, anyways opting for either of them does not have any difference.

Please post your rank. These universities take admission through CLAT. Each university has 80 to 110 seats which means that your rank should be in between 1 to 160 for admission, otherwise you know the condition of reservations. These universities would not usually see spot counselling etc., So at least you have to be in the top 200 or 250. else you can try for Management quota also.

NLSIU, Bangalore offers the B.A. + LLB Integrated (5 years) and LLM (One year) regular programs. The admission in both of the programs are done through the CLAT exam. Because you have already shown your disinterest about the B.A+LLB program so I am not considering this here the same. LLM required the LLB degree+CLAT entrance, Hence you are not eligible here for this program.
Now the next options are the following distance courses offers by this University. So if interested than can pursue further.

The eligibility criteria for above programs is Graduation in any discipline. There is no entrance exam for distance programs.

CLAT preparation Tip 1 Understand the syllabus distribution
This is the single most important tip and yet the most common mistake that students make. Students tend to spend disproportionate amounts of time on Mathematics and Logical Reasoning. Therefore, by solving tougher and tougher problems from a wide range of topics, you ignore the other sections. However, as you can clearly see from the table above, Mathematics and Logical Reasoning together constitute only 60 marks. The more important sections are those of Legal Aptitude and GK/Current Affairs. Those two put together are 50% of the paper or 100 marks.

Students often struggle with this section because of two major reasons. One is that it is unrelated to what is taught in schools. Second, being the potential area to cover is very vast. However, in reality, you can benefit by knowing what the exam focuses on. The past 8 years of CLAT papers and questions typically tend to come from just 4 major areas: Criminal Law, Law of Tort, Contract Act and Indian Constitution.
Therefore, rather than attempting to cover all of the IPC or the CrPC, it is better to restrict yourself to a more thorough understanding of these 4 basic topics. Each of these topics is vast. However, remember that this is a Law entrance exam. Hence, you are not expected to know the detailed technicalities of these topics in advance. Instead, you should have a good grasp of the fundamental tenets on which the laws are framed. Also, be able to use your logic skills to apply the given principles to the realistic circumstances.

There is no source from which you can study this section that will guarantee you great marks in this section. Even the best-prepared student would be confident of only 80-85% of the GK questions asked in CLAT exam. A best-prepared student is one who has been constantly reading the newspapers for over 5 years. He/she would have thorough/basic knowledge of all that has happened in the world for the last decade.
