To get a seat in Mumbai University for B.A. in Film, Television and New Media Production, candidates must have passed the Higher Secondary School Certificate Examination (Academic or Vocational Stream) conducted by different Divisional Boards of Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education or an Examinations of any another University or Body recognised as equivalent thereof by the Senate of the University of Mumbai.
The application procedure involves registering on the University of Mumbai website, filling the admission form available on the website of the desired college, and acquiring an MKCL number.
The course structure includes six semesters with various subjects such as Introduction to Literature and Creative Writing, Understanding Effective Communication, Introduction to History of Art, Basics of Photography, Introduction to Cinema and Film Appreciation, and more.
The evaluation criteria include internal assessments, end-semester exams, and a final project. The final project involves a 45-minute mini-feature film and a thesis report on the field of specialization.
