Hi, Getting a University transfer (changing university with a course in continuity) is a difficult and a rare option as compared to the change of colleges under the same University. Definitely the value of such a course is always questionable and may lead to identity issues for the course recognition in the market.
Still I would suggest you to first contact the University where you plan to take the transfer and inquire whether such provisions are available or not based on which you may then decide further.

M.Sc (mathematics): Eligibility:
The eligibility criteria for this course in colleges like Christ University-Bangalore, St Stephen's College-New Delhi, Loyola College-Chennai, Mount Carmel College-Bangalore is graduation in any discipline with mathematics and English as the main subjects with minimum 50% aggregate, however, institutes prefer students with B.Sc. /B.E. /B.Tech degree.
M.Sc (mathematics): Admission:
Usually the admission process starts in the month of March/April where the colleges announce the notification and application forms both online and offline.
Direct admission:
Few universities takes admission in M.Sc courses through merit basis as well as through entrance test, like Delhi University reserves 50% of its seats for merit basis admissions.
Entrance exam:
Colleges like Loyola College-Chennai, IIT-Kanpur and IIT-Delhi conducts entrance test for taking admissions into the course. Students selected through entrance test would further have to go through personal interview before final selection.

An expert committee of the UGC had two years ago recommended that students enrolled in a regular degree course should be allowed to pursue an additional degree simultaneously under open or distance education mode from the same or different university.
However, students should not be allowed to undertake two regular degrees at the same time, the committee had held.
