Students have the opportunity to select from subject-focused specializations in addition to the main subject. Additionally, they are also given the opportunity to select a minor or exploratory course from one of the following other UPES schools: School of Advanced Engineering, School of Computer Science, School of Law, School of Business, School of Health Sciences, School of Design, School of Modern Media, and School of Liberal Studies.

Applicants must have a Graduate Degree (10+2+3) in any discipline with 50 marks in aggregate secured from a recognised University or Institute. Applicants appearing in the final year qualifying examination are also eligible to apply provided they submit the proof of their eligibility the latest by October 30, 2021. Up to 30 percent of seats shall be filled through the National Level Tests category like CAT, MAT, XAT, and NMAT. In case applicants for such seats are not available, UPES (Admission Office) has the right to fill these seats through Master of Business Administration (UPESMET).
