UPES Dehradun offers Academic Scholarships to eligible students on the tuition fees to support their education. Petroleum Dehradun provides a concession in fees based on scores scored by students in the entrance exam such as JEE Main, JEE Advanced, CUET, CBSE (+2), and exams from other central/ State boards of India. 1. Merit Scholarships Based on Board Merit (UG & Integrated Course)
Eligibility Criteria & Conditions
- All students who have applied for admission for Undergraduate (UG) programs except LLB 3 Years and Global Pathway Program (GPP) and have taken 12thCBSE Board / ICSE Board or any State Board exam (mentioned under “COBSE”)
- The scholarship shall be applicable for first year tuition fee only, if the offer acceptance fee is deposited within the given timeline (as mentioned in the admission offer letter).
- Scholarships awarded under the Board Merit category for Undergraduate (UG) programmes shall be calculated based on the aggregate marks obtained in five subjects, comprising English as a compulsory subject, three main-stream subjects, and a fifth subject being either the second language or an additional subject, whichever reflects the higher marks obtained by the applicant.
- The total number of seats for this scholarship is upto 3000 and will be awarded in the order of merit.
- The scholarship is only available for the students who have taken admission to regular programs i.e., not in Global Pathway Programs:
- In case a student takes admission in regular UG program and later shifts to Global Pathway Program, the scholarship awarded at the time of admission will be reversed and the change of program will only be permitted post submission of the scholarship amount awarded at the time of admission.
- If any student takes admission in the Global Pathway Program and later decides to shift to regular program, the student will not be eligible to get the scholarship based on the Board merit
- A student/applicant will be eligible for only one type of Scholarship/concession in a given Academic semester or year. If a student is awarded a particular scholarship/concession but also meets the criteria for one or more than one scholarship/concession at UPES including Domicile (As mandated by regulation), student shall receive the highest of the scholarship/concession offered but not both.
- Eligibility for scholarships based on Board merit shall be determined and applied strictly at the time of admission, prior to completion of student registration. Students intending to avail such scholarships must exercise the option and submit all requisite documents before registration. No request for grant, revision, or consideration of any scholarship shall be entertained after completion of registration, under any circumstances.

2. National Level Exam Scholarships (UG)
Eligibility Criteria & Conditions
- All students who have applied for admission for Undergraduate (UG) programs except LLB 3 Years and Global Pathway Program (GPP) and have appeared in JEE Mains/CUET-UG/CLAT All India Rank (General) in current year 2026.
- The scholarship shall be applicable for first year tuition fee only, if the offer acceptance fee is deposited within the given timeline (as mentioned in the admission offer letter).
- The scholarship is only available for the students who have taken admission to regular programs i.e. not in Global Pathway Programs:
- In case a student takes admission in regular UG program and later shifts to Global Pathway Program, the scholarship awarded at the time of admission will be reversed and the change of program will only be permitted post submission of the scholarship amount awarded at the time of admission.

3. MBA Scholarships
Eligibility Criteria & Conditions
- All students who have applied for admission to MBA programs (regular) except Global Pathway Program (GPP) and have done graduation from any recognized University (mentioned under AIU).
- The total number of seats under this scholarship is limited to 100–125and will be awarded strictly on a first-come, first-served basis, subject to fulfilment of eligibility criteria and availability of seats.
- The scholarship shall be applicable for first year tuition fee only, if the offer acceptance fee is deposited within the given timeline (as mentioned in the admission offer letter).
- A student/applicant will be eligible for only one type of Scholarship/concession in a given Academic semester or year. If a student is awarded a particular scholarship/concession but also meets the criteria for one or more than one scholarship/concession at UPES including Domicile (As mandated by regulation), student shall receive the highest of the scholarship/concession offered but not both.
- There is no renewal as it is applicable for 1styear only.

4. Teacher's Ward Scholarships
Eligibility Criteria & Conditions
- All students who have applied for admission for Undergraduate (UG) programs except LLB 3 Years and Global Pathway Program (GPP).
- A student whose parent (mother/father) is a teacher in a government or government-recognized school, college, or university is eligible for this scholarship, provided the teacher has at least one year of regular service.
- This scholarship will be applicable after document verification on campus.
- The scholarship shall be applicable for first year tuition fee only, if the offer acceptance fee is deposited within the given timeline (as mentioned in the admission offer letter).
- Employment proof is mandatory: service certificate, employee ID (from school or college), or salary slip.
- A student/applicant will be eligible for only one type of Scholarship/concession in a given Academic semester or year. If a student is awarded a particular scholarship/concession but also meets the criteria for one or more than one scholarship/concession at UPES including Domicile (As mandated by regulation), student shall receive the highest of the scholarship/concession offered but not both.
- If any student takes admission in the Global Pathway Program and later decides to shift to regular program, the student will not be eligible to get the scholarship based on Teacher’s Ward Fee Concession.
5. Defence Ward Scholarships
Eligibility Criteria & Conditions
- All students who have applied for admission for Undergraduate (UG) programs except LLB 3 Years and Global Pathway Program (GPP)
- A student whose parent (mother/father) is serving in the Indian Armed Forces (Army, Navy, or Air Force) is eligible for this scholarship, subject to submission of valid service proof.
- This scholarship will be applicable after document verification on campus.
- The scholarship shall be applicable for first year tuition fee only, if the offer acceptance fee is deposited within the given timeline (as mentioned in the admission offer letter).
- Proof of defence relationship (Dependent/Relationship Certificate), defence service proof of parent/guardian (Serving: Service Certificate + Defence ID; Retired: PPO + ESM Card; Martyr/Disabled: Casualty Certificate, if applicable), and Aadhaar cards of both the student and defence parent/guardian.
- A student/applicant will be eligible for only one type of Scholarship/concession in a given Academic semester or year. If a student is awarded a particular scholarship/concession but also meets the criteria for one or more than one scholarship/concession at UPES including Domicile (As mandated by regulation), student shall receive the highest of the scholarship/concession offered but not both.
