Yes you will get CSE in category 1. But seeing the situation it is possible that the seats might get filled. You can keep IT or CSE specialisation as a backup.

Hi, How do you compare universities? Let me share some criteria:
Curriculum: The curriculum is continuously upgraded and developed with consultations and feedback from the industry. Since IT/CSE is a highly dynamic field, you can't afford a programme that is stuck in obsolete technologies and syllabi. Technology: The businesses and the business functions are now high tech-driven; the tech programme must have the exposure and training. The world-leading technologies like SAP, GitHub, Advance excel, etc. Are a must for any professional to succeed in a career. Industry interface: Ultimately, it's the industry that will immerse the students in the placements; the regular industrial talks, interactions, lectures, visits, and internships are a must-have in any tech programme. Professional etiquette: It is the most important part these days; personality, ethics, virtuousness, speech, body language, interpersonal skills, etc. , are given high importance. The programme must include the training or modules on all these. Diversity: As the world shrink into an aligned economy, the professionals will be required to work in cross-cultural teams having entirely different work culture and ethos, the national and international diversity of students in a college helps enable the students to develop the right sensibilities for such work atmosphere. Entrepreneurship: Even though most of the students go for jobs, exposure to entrepreneurship is required. This helps the professionals know how the other departments and the profit center heads work, expectations, etc. The college must have innovation labs, design thinking, and a business incubator. Community service: A few community projects in between the course are very important to develop the humane side of the person and learn the organizing skills. Placements: The programme is the only means to the end! And desired end of such a course is a placement. You must check if the college/university has a solid track record of placements or not. LPU has a phenomenal, unmatched track record on each of these criteria in the last decade or so, more than 700 top recruiters from across the globe are regular to campus. This is proof enough of its excellence. So, go for LPU. Thanks.

There is 90% chance that you will get your desired branch in the 1st category but due to the current situation we can't really be sure of anything.
