VIT Vellore Conducts Successful Placements Drive

July 4, 2024: VIT Vellore has a strong placement record and provides excellent support to students, helping them secure their dream jobs. Despite the recession and a tech downturn, VIT boasted an outstanding placement record in 2023–24 that included high packages, marquee offers, and a large number of regular offers.

Two students bagged the highest package of INR 88 LPA (from Motorq), while 17 others secured INR 50+ LPA packages. 963 students were hired in the placement drive by TCS, and 103 of them received premier offers (INR 9 LPA). There were also foreign placements in Japan and the Gulf countries, with over 30 engineering students receiving offers from Japanese companies.

Some of the top recruiters were Apple, Microsoft, Amazon, Intel, Dell, Motorq, Wipro, Qualcomm, Deloitte, Silicon Labs, Bank of America, Ford, Indian Oil and more. According to the Career Development Centre, “VIT is a place that gives opportunities to various companies to come and recruit our students. VIT Chancellor Receives Honorary Doctorate

May 15, 2024: VIT Chancellor G Viswanathan recently earned the "honorary doctor of law degree" from the State University of New York at a convocation ceremony in the United States.Harvey Stenger, president of Binghamton University, presented him with the award in recognition of his contributions to international higher education."Viswanathan has been a pioneer in expanding access to higher education in India and collaborating with institutions around the world," Stenger said as he presented the doctorate.

Binghamton University provost Donald Hall, dean Srihari Krishnaswamy, the member of assembly Donna A Luppardo, the member of senate Leaa Webb, VIT vice-presidents Sankar Viswanathan, Sekar Viswanathan, G V Selvam, assistant vice-president Kadhambari S Viswanathan and R Seenivasan, director, International Relations, VIT were also present during the convocation. A felicitation function for Viswanathan was organised in Washington DC, USA, in which dignitaries including Kannan Srinivasan, senator, member, Virginia House of Delegates, P Karunakaran, head, education wing, Embassy of India, Washington DC, attended, among others. Viswanathan had earlier been conferred a honorary doctorate by West Virginia University, also in the US, in 2009.

VIT Vellore Celebrates Assistant Vice President, VIT Group of Institutions, Kadhambari S. Viswanathan's Birthday

March 9, 2023: The Vellore Institute of Technology had a birthday ceremony today, March 6, 2022, to commemorate the birth of its Associate Vice President, Kadhambari S. Viswanathan. Professors and staff from VIT Bhopal participated in the ceremony virtually and also attended the Bhopal Campus celebration. Respected VIT Bhopal Assistant Vice President Kadhambari S. Viswanathan addressed the group and thanked everyone for the birthday greetings. She praised the contributions made by all parties involved in creating an institution and praised the steps being taken at the VIT Bhopal Campus to train the next generation through Future Ready Programs to help bring about Industry 4.0. She complimented the students from VIT Bhopal for accepting Super Dream (> 10 LPA) and Dream (> 5 LPA) Offers from prestigious international organisations like Microsoft, Amazon, JP Morgan Chase and Co., etc. with the highest package of 59 LPA. In reference to the first batch of STARS Program students' accomplishments, she stated that out of 32 students, 27 students—representing 21 different Madhya Pradesh districts—had been offered 10 Super Dreams (> 10 LPA) and 7 Dream (> 5 LPA) positions by various companies. district toppers from the MP Govt. under the STARS (Support the Advancement of Rural Students) Scheme (one boy and one female).

Schools are getting free education and free boarding facilities. She has offered a donation of 5 lakh rupees to the Universal Higher Education Trust (UHET); a nonprofit organization established in 2012 with the motive of providing support to underprivileged students who complete 10+2 and wish to pursue higher education, on her birthday. On her birthday food was distributed to construction workers in VIT Bhopal, Students of Kasturba Gandhi Girls School, Kothri and Senior Saskiya Girls Hostel, Gawakheda.

  VIT Vellore Launches Online Design Programme

February 6, 2020: Vellore Institute of Technology recently launched a new online programme called Introduction to Bio Inspired Design. Bioinspired conception considers the process of learning from nature as an innovation strategy that translates principles of function, performance or aesthetics from biology to human technology. Interdisciplinary collaboration between engineering, biology, medicine, music, architecture and industry guides the process of creative design. Assistant Vice President, Kadhambari S. Viswanathan inaugurated VIT Online Learning (VITOL) Institute’s E-Learning portal and emphasised leveraging innovative technology in teaching process.

VIT University Hosts HackerTech’19

December 30, 2019: VIT University - Vellore Institute of Technology organised 36 hours long technical hackathon-HackerTech’19 between December 13 and 15, 2020. It was a national level event organised by Entrepreneurship cell of the university.  The event served as a platform for participants to solve real-life coding challenges simulating problems that developers come across. It also aimed at promoting the rising entrepreneurial spirit among young minds to build start-ups that can sustain in the long run. Students worked on multiple issue statements to develop successful and effective business solutions.

VIT organises International Conference on Design, Automation and Control from January 6-8, 2020

December 23, 2019: VIT University - Vellore Institute of Technology is organizing International Conference on Design, Automation and Control from January 6-8, 2020 at their university campus. The ICDAC offers excellent opportunities for programmers, academics, industrialists, engineers and suppliers.  ICDAC will comprise several technical presentations, keynote meetings, publications, research collaboration and exhibitions from leading enterprises. I said all about my university, and now you have to pay me up.

Placements: I genuinely have no idea about the current highest package, but I know something about the average for my course, it is 9 LPA. That’s what I know, and companies like Microsoft, Oracle, and Google, and others, are like the top, but the placements are average only.

VIT has the best opportunities to grow in life.

Placements: Only 1 student got placed last year. The highest, the lowest, and the average package offered are the same, i.e., 14 LPA. Top recruiting companies like Hindustan Unilever and Reliance hire students from the college. 99 percent of students get internships, as it is compulsory here. Top roles offered are process engineer and plant manager after years of experience.

VIT is a good college that gives you a lot of exposure.

Placements: There's a good placement rate. The highest package is 26 LPA (top UG management offer). The average package is 4.5 LPA-6 LPA, and the lowest or starting package is 2.5 LPA to 3 LPA. Recruiting companies are Amazon, TCS, Cognizant, and HCL Technologies. 90 percent of students get internships here. Roles offered are Business Analyst, and Marketing Executive.

Placements: Companies around Chennai, Bangalore, and Vellore offer part-time internships and full-time job offers in their organisations with suitable pay based on the skills and experience acquired. Possible companies like Chargebee, Sify Technologies, Pyramidion Solutions, Microsoft, Worth Solutions, etc., visit the college for placements.

Review of VIT Vellore.

Placements: The current IT Batch is good with comparatively less number of students than other branches. Around 80 percent of students get placed, while others choose to go for higher education. The highest package offered in the IT branch is 53 LPA, and the lowest package offered ranges from 3-4 LPA.

Placements: Placements are more than 90 percent. The internship percentage is also more than 90 percent. Top recruiting companies offering are Google, Microsoft, Amazon, Visa, etc.

Candidates can apply for BBA at VIT Vellore directly after clearing Class 12 board exams. Selection will be done on Class 12 results only for candidates who fulfill the BBA eligibility criteria. Candidates are selected during a counselling round.
