Opticians
- Follow the exact specifications given by the optometrist in a prescription
- Make prescription eyewear and keep themselves updated with the materials and production processes used in the optical industry
- Fit the lens to align it correctly for each client
- Sell optical goods and help customers in the selection and trial of suitable eyewear
- Advise on style, shape and suitability of thickness of frames
- Record the details of the prescription and tag it to the frame
- Work in the ophthalmic lab to grind the lens and fit it in the frame
- Try out the eyewear on the customer and make adjustments if required to the frame
- Help customers learn how to use and store contact lens
