It is tough to say whether it's worth it or not. The programme has started this year only, so it can be said that it is not much stable one, and there will be difficulties in curriculum management during the course, which will be rectified in next admission session. Doing M.Sc astronomy will definitely narrow down your higher research and opportunities, limiting it just to astronomy, as you will be doing only astronomy all along. So, choose if and only if you are very sure about pursuing a career in astronomy.
