The GATE 2026 exam for admission to ME/MTech/PhD courses will be conducted on Feb 7, Feb 8, Feb 14, and Feb 15, 2026.
A few more updates are given below:
- The JEE Advanced 2026 application form is expected to be released in April 2026, and the examination will be conducted on May 17, 2026.
- The JEE Main 2026 Session 1 admit cards for IIT Indore admission to BTech, BArch, and BPlan courses are now available for download on the official website for students scheduled to appear from Jan 21 to Jan 24, 2026.
- The IIT JAM 2026 admit cards can now be downloaded from the official portal for admission to the MSc course. Further, the IIT JAM exam 2026 is scheduled to be conducted on Feb 15, 2026.
IIT Indore Highlights 2025
IIT Indore or IITI, was established in 2009 and was founded by the Ministry of Education, Government of India. The college is an institute of national importance. Located in Simrol, Indore, MP, IIT Indore is one of the eight new IITs initiated by Government of India. No, candidates cannot join IIT Indore without taking an entrance exam. Admission to UG/PG courses at IIT Indore is based on national level entrance exams such as JEE MAIN, JEE Advanced, GATE. IIT Indore JEE Advanced Cutoff was released based on the category and gender. For the General AI category candidates, the Cutoff ranks ranged between 1389 and 10894. To get BTech in CSE, the General AI category candidates must have secured a minimum cutoff rank of 1389. For the General AI female candidates, the minimum JEE Advanced rank to get CSE was 4698. For the OBC AI category, the cutoff rank for CSE closed at 649.
Therefore, a General AI candidate cannot secure a seat in CSE with the cutoff rank of 2000. However, the Cutoff rank to secure the course would depend on the category and gender.

IIT Indore has been one of the prestigious IITs which offers BTech courses based on JEE Advanced exam scores. In connection to it, IIT Indore release JEE Advanced cutoffs. Further, it doesn't matter that which state you belong to while applying for the admission at IIT Indore. This is because, institute only releases cutoffs for the All India category candidates. So, if you 1269 rank in JEE Advanced, you can directly get into IIT Indore under All India quota belonging to any category, as per the IIT Indore JEE Advanced cutoff 2024.
IIT Indore M.Tech in Mechanical Engineering (Mechanical System Design) curriculum is spread over two years. It comprises various core and elective subjects, covered over four semesters. A list of some subjects included in the course curriculum is given below:

IIT Indore JEE Advanced Cutoff was released based on the category and gender. For the General AI category candidates, the Cutoff ranks ranged between 1389 and 10894. To get BTech in CSE, the General AI category candidates must have secured a minimum cutoff rank of 1389. For the General AI female candidates, the minimum JEE Advanced rank to get CSE was 4698. For the OBC AI category, the cutoff rank for CSE closed at 649.
Therefore, a General AI candidate cannot secure a seat in CSE with the cutoff rank of 2000. However, the Cutoff rank to secure the course would depend on the category and gender.

Yes, IIT Indore offers a four-year BTech programme under nine specialisations including Chemical Engineering, Engineering Physics, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Space Sciences and Engineering.
